Grand Canyon 2
Description: A spectacular section of the canyon, together with plateau areas on either side of it, are preserved as the Grand Canyon National Park, which receives about four million visitors a year. The Grand Canyon cuts steeply through an arid plateau region that lies between about 1500 and 2700 m (about 5000 and 9000 ft) above sea level.

Hoover Dam
Description: Rising more than 700 feet above the raging waters of the Colorado River, it was called one of the greatest engineering works in history. Hoover Dam, built during the Great Depression, drew men desperate for work to a remote and rugged canyon near Las Vegas.
